Sac Co. Settler Buried Monday, William H. Moomaw Passes Last Friday At Iowa
City, Iowa. Funeral services for William Harvey Moomaw were held at 1:00 p. m.
at the Neal Funeral Home with Rev. Corwin Taylor, pastor of the Methodist Church
in charge. Music was furnished by P. G. Wallace who sang, A. G. Neal at the
piano. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

William Harvey Moomaw was born at Sidney, Fremont county, Iowa, June 12, 1866.
He passed away at Iowa City Feb. 23, 1940, at the age of 73 years, 8 months and
11 days. He was united in marriage to Katherine Barnes at Sidney, Iowa. Mrs.
Moomaw preceded her husband in death 31 years ago on June 14, 1909.
Four children were born to this union, one dying in infancy. Those left to mourn
the death of the deceased are a son, Lewis, of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters,
Gertrude Drewes and Beulah Gutz, both of Chicago; three grandchildren, Wayne and
Kathryn Drewes and Burlette Gutz; and a number of relatives and friends. Mr.
Moomaw was one of Sac county's old settlers. He had worked for years with the
Electrical Company and for the Sac City Canning Company.
