SIKESTON - Marian Moody, 89, died Feb. 6, 2005, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 7, 1915, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late David and Minnie Harper Aslin, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston since 1946. She had worked for Sikes Hardware and Sikes Sporting Goods before retiring. On May 24, 1935, in Charleston, she married Ralph Moody who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Jane and Lee Shell of Sikeston; three grandchildren and their spouses, Melanie and Ralph Sanders of Sikeston, David and Gina Shell of Cape Girardeau and Caroline and Larry Carroll of Sikeston; four great-grandchildren, Meghann Shell, Alexander Shell and Madeline Shell of Cape Girardeau and Dylan Carroll of Sikeston; one brother, Reuben Aslin of Longview, Wash.; two sisters, Marjorie Hopkins of Alton, Ill., and Leah Francis of Longview, Wash.; one sister-in-law, Mildred Aslin of Dexter; and 13 nieces and eight nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sylvia Page, Ruth Little and Ruby Aslin; five brothers, Eugene Aslin, Clifton Aslin, Ray Aslin, Bill Aslin and James Aslin; and one nephew.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield. Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
