OBITUARY

Name:   Henderson Malone Millspaugh

Henderson M. Millspaugh, son of Theodore and Malissie Millspaugh, was born September 20, 1853, near Norris City, Ill.  Departed this life July 29th, 1929, at the ripe age of seventy-five years, 10 months, and 9 days.

He was married to Mary E. Bolerjack of Carmi, in the years 1872.  To this union were born 9 children, 5 girls and 4 boys.

His earliest days were spent in the pioneer life as a timber man, later becoming a farmer.  We known for his ability as a threshing machine man, possessing a fair knowledge of carpenter and masonry work and has busied himself in other vocations.

He professed faith in Christ at the age of 17.  Was a Bible student of fair capabilities, leading in devotional service, able in prayer, loyal to the faith of the gospel and devoted to Christ to the end.  He attended singing and writing school after he was married and devoted some time to teaching vocal music, his ability being widely known. 

His first wife departed to be with her creator, October 1906, and he was married to his second wife, Ida Allen of near McLeansboro, November 1912, and made their home near there until the end came.  He leaves this wife with whom he has spent those 17 years; two sons, Rev. J. C. Millspaugh of Tuscola, and T. R. Millspaugh of Mt. Carmel; four daughters, Lela J. Nations, Mrs. Della M. Stanley of Mt. Carmel; Mrs. Sarah J. Salisbury of St. Francisville; Mrs. Audrey Wells of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Theo R. Millspaugh of Piggott, Ark., ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild together with other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

Funeral services were held at Albion church, west of Norris City, July 31, at one o'clock p.m. conducted by Rev. C. M. Prince and in the presence of a large crowd and a beautiful floral offering, we laid the body to rest in the cemetery at that place.
