ELDORADO, ILL. - Robert D. Mayberry, 78, Broughton, died 12:58 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Digby Hill Cemetery, Dale. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Hamilton County to the late Peary and Ruth (Wheeler) Mayberry. On Jan. 24, 1950, he married the former Barbara Unthank, who survives.

He owned and operated Triple M Drywall Company in Hampshire until retirement. He was a member of Dale United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Ron (Cindy) Mayberry of Fairview, Tenn., John R. Mayberry of Egg Harbor, Wis. and Ricky Joe Mayberry of Hampshire; two daughters, Cindy (Robert) Parks of Marion and Connie (Paul) Keenan of Burlington; three brothers, Bill (Jackie) Mayberry of Evansville, Ind., Tom (Carole) Mayberry of California and John (Brenda) Mayberry, 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Vernon and Donnie Mayberry.
