He was a barber for 54 years, retiring in 1986. He had worked for Continental Oil Co. in Griffin, Ind., and Republic Aviation in Evansville during World War II.
He was a member of New Harmony Masonic Lodge 394, Evansville Scottish Rite and was associated with Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lois; two daughters, Jane Malone of Evansville and Pat Hancock of Griffin; a brother Willis of Sun City Arizona; two grandchildren, Lisa Doherty and Scott Hancock; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Jeffrey Barnes officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, where New Harmony Masonic Lodge 394 will conduct services at 7 p.m. today.
