Mack Lee Longmire, 74, of Anna and formerly of Mt. Vernon, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2009, at 2:10 p.m. in Anna. He was born in Refugio, Texas, on May 18, 1934, a son of W .T. and Irma Marie (Maxwell) Longmire. He married Carmen Whitson on May 4, 1952, in California, and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2006. He was a millwright.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at Jordan Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Longmire is survived by sons, Jim Longmire and wife Peggy of Bailey, Colo., and John Longmire and wife Jamie of Anna; daughters, Linda Leahy and husband Rick of Marshfield, Mo., Laura Decker of Mt. Vernon, and Debby Ballard and husband Gary of Estes Park, Colo.; grandchildren, Rhonda, Erin, Ryan, Stacy, Vicki, Sean, Nick, Tony, Joshua, Justin, Rae, Trevor, Rita, Alec, Johnathan, Zachary, Adam and Scott; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Longmire and wife Doty, Paul Longmire and Warren Longmire and wife Terri, all of Texas; and sister, Sarah Gute Kunst and husband John of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Charles Longmire and Lloyd Longmire.

Mr. Longmire was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
