Name:    Carmen Evelyn (Whitson) Longmire

Carman Longmire, 73, of Marshfield, Mo., and formerly of Mt. Vernon was a Christian woman and

went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2006, from Webco Manor Nursing Home in Marshfield, 

Mo. She was a registered nurse. 

Mrs. Longmire was born July 27, 1932, in Mt. Vernon to John Marvin and C. Evelyn Whitson. She

married Mack Longmire May 4, 1953, in California; he survives. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Burial will follow in 

Jordan Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Osborn Funeral Home 

in Dix. 

Mrs. Longmire is survived by her husband, Mack Longmire of Anna; sons Jim Longmire and wife 

Peggy of Bailey, Colo., and John Longmire and wife Jamie of Anna; daughters Linda Leahy and 

husband Rick of Marshfield, Mo., Laura Decker of Mt. Vernon and Debby Ballard and husband 

Gary of Estes Park, Colo.; grandchildren Rhonda, Erin, Ryan, Stacy, Vicki, Sean, Nick, Tony, 

Joshua, Justin, Rae, Trevor, Rita, Alec, Jonathan, Zachary, Adam and Scott; five great-grandchildren; 

a brother, Jack Whitson and wife Pat of Mt. Juliette, Tenn.; and sisters June Teevin and Marvine 

Curl, both of Mt. Vernon. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark Longmire. 

Mrs. Longmire attended Park Avenue Baptist Church.
