BLOOMFIELD - Dow D. Kingree, 80, of Bloomfield died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Kingree was born April 28, 1923, at Pocahontas, Ark. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles and fought in the Battle of Bulge where he received four Bronze Stars. He was retired as a maintenance man from the Bloomfield School in 1985 and later worked as a meter reader for SEMO Electric.
He married Velma McRoy April 5, 1947. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Donna Hutchison of Bloomfield; three sons, Larry Kingree of Cape Girardeau, Michael Kingree of Ellsinore and Steve Kingree of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
