Death Takes Walter Kibbe Sunday Morning

Walter Kibbe, Farmer residing southeast of Arnett, who has been suffering from stomach ulcers for some time, died Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock.  He was working away from home at the time he became seriously ill and was rushed to Shattuck Hospital where an emergency operation was performed about two weeks ago.  Mr. Kibbe, son of Elymas and Evelyn Elizabeth Kibbe, who have preceded him in death, was born at Osage City, Kansas August 14, 1890.  He departed this life June 15, 1941, at the Shattuck Hospital, aged 50 years, 10 months and 1 day.  Mr. Kibbe grew to manhood in Kansas, and in 1908 moved with his parents to Archer City, Texas, and later to Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Eva Dollie Lyles, September 25, 1919, at Poplar Bluff Missouri, and established a home in St. Louis were he worked for the E. J. Tire and Battery Station.  To this union were born four children: Daisy Pearl, who preceded her father in death in 1923; Walter Orville, Ina Bernice and Paul Edwin, all of whom are at home.

In 1931, Mr. Kibbe moved with his family to Arnett where he established a home on his father's place and where they were residing at the time of his passing.  He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three children, two brothers; Elbert Elymas Kibbe, Kennewick, Washington, and Edwin Butler Kibbe of Arnett; he also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Christian Church of Arnett, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock by Pastor Thomas O. Bishop, and interment made in the DeBolt Cemetery.
