Charles S. "Chuck" Ketterer, 79, of Lafayette, died unexpectedly on Monday,
March 16, 2009, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
Born May 29, 1929, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary
Thoennes Ketterer. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and served in the
National Guard.
On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Alma J. Park, and she survives.
Mr. Ketterer was a superintendent at Kettlehut Construction from 1949 until his retirement in 1994.
He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Carpenters Union 215.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Doug Ketterer and daughter-in-law Debra of Lafayette; four sisters, Joann Spaker and Rosemary Furrer, both of Lafayette, Barbara Michalke (husband: Jim) of Thorntown and Carol Sue McKay (husband: Dave) of Bremen, Ga.; and three brothers, James Ketterer (wife: Mary), Robert Ketterer (wife: Mable) and Daniel Ketterer (wife: Janice), all of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Eric, Whitney and Blake Ketterer. He was preceded in death by a daughter who was stillborn, Denise Althear Ketterer.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buck Creek Fire Department.
