SHELTON, Wash. -- Dorothy Galusha Johnson, a Shelton resident for 18 years, died of natural causes Monday, November 8, 2004, at Alpine Way Retirement Center in Shelton. She was 84.

She was born February 9, 1920 in Oakland, California to Grace Frances Haas and Robert James Dryden. She married Robert Speer in 1938. They later divorced. She married Robert David Galusha on December 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1978. She married Roy M. Johnson on February 16, 2002 in Shelton.

Mrs. Johnson was a volunteer with Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice in Shelton for 13 years, and was a teacher's aide in Fullerton, California, for 15 years. She loved little children, and was especially proud of her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, entertaining family and friends and traveling. Among her travels, she visited England, Scotland and Wales. She always looked on the bright side of life and found joy in small pleasures.

She was active at the First Baptist Church and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Shelton. She was a wonderful example of Christ-like love.

Surviving are her husband Roy M. Johnson of Shelton; daughters Judith S. (Jay) Schreider of Davis, California, and Donna M. (Regis) Graden of Chico, California; sons Robert L. (Rory) Galusha of Williams, Arizona and David M. (Vonnie) Galusha of Folsom, California; stepdaughter Lynette G. (James) Komarek of Cedar City, Utah; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 12, at the Church of the Nazarene in Shelton. Interment was in the Shelton Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by McComb Funeral Home of Shelton.
