OBITUARY

Name:   James Valoris Ives

On Thursday morning, Dec. 11, at 11 o'clock, occurred the death of James V. Ives, aged 69 years at his home on Pearl street, Wellsboro.  He had been in poor health for a year and gradually failed until the end came.

Mr. Ives had lived nearly all of his life in Wellsboro and was greatly respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Trull Ives; his daughter, Dr. Helen Ives Lyon, and his son, Robert T. Ives of Philadelphia.  He also leaves a brother, Versal Ives of Roaring Branch.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a member of the board of deacons and board of trustees.  He was also a life-long member of the Bache Hose Company.

The funeral was held at his home on Saturday evening, Rev. C. W. Macgeorge officiating, assisted by Rev. David R. Evans; interment was made early Sunday morning in the Wellsboro cemetery.
