MRS. EMMA J. HYDE DEAD AT CUBA HOME

Cuba, March 18 -- At the home of Mrs. E. D. Studley on East Main St. yesterday morning occurred the death of her mother, Mrs. Emma J. Hyde, of Portville.  Death was due to heart disease and her death came unexpectedly.  The deceased had been ill for the past five months and about three months ago came to Cuba with her husband to make their home with their daughter, thinking she might improve in health.  Relatives from Olean were present at her death bed.  She was well known throughout the vicinity.

Mrs. Hyde was born 51 years ago at Bellrun, Pa., and during the past seventeen years resided in Portville.  Prior to coming to Cuba, she and her husband visited in Eldred.  A short prayer will be held at the Methodist church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning, with Rev. F. F. Leavitt as the officiating pastor.  The body will then be taken to Portville where it will be interred.

Those surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. E. D. Studley of Cuba and Mrs. Mertie Allen of Olean, one brother, George Galutia of Olean and one sister, Mrs. Ida Henyon of Montana.
