Mrs. Anna Luella Humphries, native of Shaftsbury, and former resident of 115 Booth Terrace, died Thursday morning at the Busl Nursing Home in Pownal after a long illness.  She was 81.

Daughter of Burton and Minnie (Hulett) Barrett, she was born April 6, 1895, received her education in Bennington schools and in her earlier years was employed at the Cooper Needle Shop.  He home and family were her main interests and she enjoyed crocheting and handwork.  Her late husband, Frank, died July 19, 1954.

She leaves a daughter, Catherine Dickie of Pownal, a son, Francis of Bennington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Edyth Barrett of New York, N.Y., nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Floyd I. LaBombard, pastor of the First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, South Shaftsbury.

The family will be in attendance at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and has suggested memorial contributions to either the Bennington or Pownal Rescue Squads.
