Milton F. Humphrey, 90, of Evansville, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Good Samaritan Home.

He was in the grocery and meat business for 25 years opening the Saveway in 1946 and a shopping center.  He retired at the age of 45.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 464, Scottish Rite, Hadi Temple Shrine and Evansville Kennel Club.  He raised azaleas and rhododendrons and was a member of the Rhododendron Society.  He was a boater, fisherman and golfer.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Carolyn "Babe" (Hartmann); three brothers, James G. and Robert K., both of Evansville and Paul S. of Newburgh; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Revs. David Patterson and Carol Havens officiating with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. Masonic service and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
