Was Widow of Well-Known Merchant in That Community
Mrs. Maggie Horton, a resident of St. Charles since pioneer days, died at her home there at the age of 82 years. (died-Oct. 25, 1937)
Mrs. Horton was the widow of O. M. Horton, for many years a merchant in St. Charles, and a former postmaster there.
The deceased had come to Iowa as a child in pioneer days, the trip being made by covered wagon. Most of her long life was spent in the St. Charles community. (b. Aug. 4, 1855)
Her nearest surviving relative is a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Johnson of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Methodist church in St. Charles, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. E. L. Patterson. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
