LEWISTOWN -- Glenn D. Holmes, 75, retired Milwaukee Railroad station agent, died Friday morning at a Lewistown hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Lewis was born Sept. 24, 1889, at Lushton, Neb., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holmes.  He came to Montana in 1912 with the Great Northern Railroad.  He became a station agent in 1916 and worked at Grass Range, Moore, Roy, Winifred and Denton.

He married Alice Galusha at Great Falls on July 13, 1916.  In 1947, he transferred to Choteau until he retired in 1959 and moved to Lewistown.  Mr. Holmes was a past master of Grass Range Masonic Lodge and was past noble grand of Odd Fellows at Grass Range.

Surviving are his widow; a son, Captain J. A. Holmes of the U.S. Navy in Holland; two sisters, Mrs. Faye Anderson of Helena and Mrs. Etta Shepherd of Pasadena, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

The body is at Creel-Gurnett-Retz Funeral Home.
