Mrs. Ada A. Higgins, 82, widow of John Higgins died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the Emery Nursing Home where she had been a patient for about three years.

She was born in Sweden Valley near Coudersport, Jan 14, 1882, the daughter of the late Alfred and Jennie Blowers Galutia.  When 12 years old, she moved with the family to Eldred and attended schools in that area.  She married Mr. Higgins in Portville, N.Y., Nov. 1903.  He died July 30, 1954.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Eldred.

Surviving are a son, Francis Higgins of Emporium; six daughters, Mrs. John Lekas and Mrs. Thomas Moonan, both of Bradford, Mrs. Alfred Grigsby and Mrs. Paul Manning, both of Eldred, Mrs. Clyde McCracken of Salem, N.J., and Mrs. Merle Travis of Hornell, N.Y.; a brother, Paul Galutia of Hornell; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A daughter, Mrs. Earl Parker, died in 1945.
