Janet M. Galeucia-Helgemoe, 75, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice House. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., and grew up in Reading, Mass.

She was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, class of 1953, and earned a master's degree in counseling in 1982. She was past president of New Hampshire Dietetic Association, founder of New Hampshire Consultant Dieticians in Long Term Care and a 51-year member of the American Dietetic Association, earning the Consultant Dietitian Distinguished Service Award in 1998.

She was a master gardener, wrote five genealogy books and was skilled in many types of needle craft. She was an animal lover who supported animal rights. She taught oriental cooking for Concord Adult Education for 23 years.
 
She was the daughter of Wallace L. and Emily (Dierig) Galeucia and the granddaughter of Emil and Emma Meta (Stiehler) Dierig, who owned Mark Webster Farm on Gage Hill Road in Pelham, which is now owned by her son. She advised many people at the farm stand on picking the most suitable flowers for their gardens.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond; three sons, Scott and Kristal of Peoria, Ariz., Eric and Natalie of Pelham, and Greg and Amanda of Dallas; three grandsons; two step-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

At Janet's request, calling hours and services will not be held. Burial will be held at Gibson Cemetery in Pelham.
