OBITUARY

Name:   Jenette S. (Carpenter) Hazlett

Mrs. S. Janet Carpenter Hazlett, aged 72, widow of the late Mr. A. M. Hazlett, who died about 15 years ago, died at her home in Keeneyville on Sunday, June 14th, of paralysis. She had been in poor health for the past two years.

She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Carpenter and was born in Middlebury on February 5, 1836, being one of a family of 12 children, only two of whom are living: one sister, Mrs. B. B. Holiday of Elmira and one brother, Mr. James Carpenter of Middlebury. Two children also survive her: Mrs. Cora L. Cloos of Ithaca, NY and Mr. Archie J. Hazlett of Binghamton, NY.

Mrs. Hazlett was a woman of beautiful character and of lovable disposition. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Holiday and during her active life devoted herself to her family and friends and to the performance of countless deeds of charity. Her death is mourned by all who knew her.

The funeral was held last week Tuesday at 2pm., Rev Mr. Salmon, of Tioga, officiating; burial in the Kenneyville cemetery.
