Asheboro — Pearl Hoover Grimsley, 92, of 864 Redding Road, Asheboro, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Trinity, retired from Belk’s, where she worked for 20 years, and Randolph Hospital, where she worked for 18 years. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Asheboro, and she received the Meritorious Service Award for her contributions to Randolph Chapter 210 — Order of the Eastern Star.

She had a love for gardening, flowers, cooking and animals. Known affectionately as Mom Mom, she was loved by all and touched the hearts of everyone she came to know. She was preceded in death by her son, James Otis Grimsley, and her husband, Otis George Grimsley.


Surviving are her daughter, Betsy Brandes of Franklin; brother, Elmer Hoover of Trinity; grandsons, Allan Grimsley of Nags Head, Joshua Brandes of Franklin; granddaughter, Anna Grimsley of Greensboro; and 14 grandpets.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, from 7-9 p.m., at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
