ELDRED, Pa. -- Alfred R. Grigsby, 75, of 21 South Main St. died Tuesday (July 31, 1979) in the Olean, N.Y. General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 27, 1903 in Smethport, he was a son of Roy and Fanny Hakes Grigsby.  He married the former Ione (Peggy) Higgins who predeceased him on March 28, 1978.

Mr. Grigsby had been the owner and operator of Al and Peg's Service Station and store on South Main St. in Eldred for 25 years, retiring in 1972.

He had attended the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Geraldine) Ours, Mrs. William (Dolores) Raught, and Mrs. Carl (Barbara) Booth, all of Eldred; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Charles M. Frame Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Eldred, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Friday (Aug 3, 1979) at 1:30 p.m. in the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church with David Lee, pastor and the Rev. Goszleth of the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Myrtle, officiating.  Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
