OBITUARY

Word was received in Mechanicville today of the death last week in Glendale, Calif., of Wesley L. Germain, 73, a former widely known Mechanicville merchant.  He had been in ill health for some time prior to his death.

Mr. Germain was born at Fort Miller and for many years operated a grocery store and meat market, in partnership with Alex Hunter, at 208 Park Ave.  Later he conducted the business for himself.

While a resident here, he was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and the Ondawa Lodge, F.&A.M.  After leaving Mechanicville, he went to Latham where he operated a store for a number of years.  He moved to California seven years ago.

He is survived by his widow, the former Rena Osgood of Stillwater; three brothers, Christie Germain, Saratoga Springs, Polie of Schuylerville and Henry of Greenwich; five sisters, Mrs. Rose Griffin and Mrs. Anna Wrightman, Quaker Springs, Mrs. Amy E. Wilson, Schuylerville, Mrs. Addie Hathaway, Hemstreeet Park, and Mrs. Edna Wolfe, Bacon Hill.

The funeral took place last Saturday at Glendale and interment took place in that city.
