LAKE DALLAS – Thurman L. Garrison, age 90, of Lake Dallas, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Veterans Hospital in Dallas. He was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Denton to R.W. and Virgie Viola Patterson Garrison. He married Maurine Morris on July 3, 1944, in Lewisville. 

Thurman served in the United States Army during WWII in Italy. He also worked with the OSS and at the Pentagon and Capital during World War II. He served as a Lake Dallas city councilman and was a life member of the VFW Post in Lake Dallas. He attended Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Maurine; granddaughter Trisha Anderson and her husband Quentin; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Noah Anderson; brother, Jimmy Garrison and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Thurman J. Garrison, Jr., in 2002.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas. Reverend Homer Walkup will officiate the service. The family requests memorials made to the Lake Shore Baptist Church, 276 E. Hundley Dr., Lake Dallas, TX 75065 or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
