TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. --  Robert Thomas "Tom" Garrison, 61, of Route 4, died Thursday, July 9 at his residence.

Garrison was born in Buncombe County, N.C. to Katherine Irene Edwards of Charlotte and the late Robert Cornelius Garrison.  He was a member of Derita Lodge No. 715 A.F.M. [sic] in Charlotte, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a manufacturing manager for Vulcraft Division of Nucor Corp. in Florence.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ruth Tucker Garrison of Timmonsville; five daughters, Helen Hinton of Chilhowie, Va., Rose Flounders of McBee, Bernice Jordan of Raleigh, Jenny Foit of New Smyrna, Fla., and Julie Angelea of Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, James Garrison of Murfreesboro and Paul Garrison of Lansing, Mich; two sisters, Clara Barron of Concord and Rosalee Richardson of Winston-Salem; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at South Florence Baptist Church.  The Rev. Tony Facenda will officiate. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte under the direction of Stoudenmire-Downing Funeral Home, Florence.  The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 4:15 to 5:00 Tuesday in the chapel of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.  At other times, the family will be at the residence.
