Name:     Robert Lloyd Garrison

Boonville resident Robert Lloyd (Bob) Garrison died Friday, Aug. 31 at 2 a.m. at his residence from cancer.  He was 79.

He retired in 1983 from Laborers Local 561 after working 30 years.  He was a WW II Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 200 in Boonville and was an avid IU basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marianna Ruth Carver and a brother Chester Paul Garrison.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Vermal (Hunt) Garrison of Boonville; two daughters, Carol Sue Robey and Connie Strange, both of Boonville; three sons, Robert Bruce and Troy Garrison, both of Boonville, and Robert F. Garrison of Elnora; a sister, Pauline Moore of Selvin; two brothers, James and Curtis Harris, both of Boonville; 13 grandchildren, David & Diana Ambrose, Jerry Strange, Charity Boyer, Bridget, Brandon, Charles, Jessie & Bailey Garrison, Cecily, Ashley and Lindsey  Holder and Shawn Robey; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 3, at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.  Rev. Dwight Bland and Bro. John Frank officiated.  Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery with military rites by Warrick County Veterans Memorials Services.
