OBITUARY

Name:   Lester Melvin Garrison

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a self-employed farmer.  He was a son of the late Solomon and Fannie Forester Garrison and husband of Imogene Daniels Garrison who died in 1980.

Surviving are his wife, Edith Maney Garrison; three daughters, Beatrice Riley of Johnson City, Tenn., June Guthrie of Barnardsville, and Jane Robinson of Hickory; five sons, Jack, Gene and Marion Garrison all of Barnardsville, Dan and Don Garrison, both of Weaverville; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Antioch Baptist Church of which he was a member.  The Revs. Fred Jarvis and Tom Sawyer will officiate.  Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
