Funeral services for Joseph Cleveland Garrison were held at the Urich Baptist Church September 5th. Burial was in the Urich Cemetery.

Joseph Cleveland Garrison, fourth child of Robert A. and Susan Shelton Garrison was born April 18, 1885 in Cooke County, Tenn. Departed this life at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 3, 1953. Except for a few short years he had lived in Henry County, coming to Urich with his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Garrison in 1923. He united with the Hickory Grove Baptist church at an early age, and retained his membership there until the church disbanded several years ago. Mr. Garrison was united in marriage to Lulu Mae Overbey and to this union one daughter was born Reppie Joe.

He leaves to mourn his passing besides the wife and daughter, three sisters, Mrs. Ida McIntire of Blairstown, Mo., Mrs. Edith Immer of Clinton, Mrs. Bertha Ridge, Modesto, Calif., two brothers, Robt. L. of Holden, Mo., and Harry E. of Adrian, Mo., son-in-law, Chas. L. Goodman of Kansas City, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mr. Garrison enjoyed the friendship of a wide circle of friends. He was a kind husband and father, who loved his home and in which he found his greatest pleasure and contentment.
