HOBART- Services for Irvin G. Garrison, 77, 115
North California street, who died Friday in Gary Mercy hospital, will be held
Monday at Rees funeral home. The Rev. Jasper H. Cox will officiate with
burial in McCool Cemetery, Portage.
A retired railroad inspector for the E. J. and E. railroad, where he was
employed for 49 years, Garrison had been a resident of the Hobart-Portage area
for 56 years.
Surviving besides the widow, Alberta, are two sons, Howard and Arthur, both of
Portage; one daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Grace) Hawkinson, of Utah; five grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Paul of Valparaiso, Theodore,
Walter, William, Art, Max and Albert; two sister, Mrs. Tessie Dillinger and Mrs.
Dorcas Howe.
Garrison was a member of the First Methodist church in Hobart and 50-year member
of, past Noble grand and past deputy grand master of Independent Order of Odd
fellow, Chegemiak lodge 161, Chesterton. He was also a member of the Brotherhood
of Railroad Carmen.
