MOUNT PLEASANT — Hardy Garrison, 85, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, in a Sidney nursing home.
Born Aug. 16, 1920, at Cushman, he was the son of Clarence W. and Minnie F. Satterwhite Garrison. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He retired from Banquet Foods in Batesville and was a member of Providence Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Lynn Garrison and Ronnie Dean Garrison, both of Dallas; a daughter, Connie Jean Stokes of Burleson, Texas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a niece, Ruby Barber of Newark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnie Garrison; and three sisters, Amy Stroud, Lidia Pectol and an infant sister, Loretta Garrison.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Providence Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant with Jessie McDaniel and Charles McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, located 10 miles west of Cave City under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Boyce Stroud, Larry Stroud, Luke Stroud, Lowell Stroud, Royce Slade and Harold Hamley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
