ROTAN -- The funeral for Burrel Doyal Garrison, 57, Scurry County farmer who died of Cancer Tuesday morning in Cogdell Memorial Hospital, Snyder, was to be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Snyder North Side Baptist Church.
The Rev. J. H. Skiles, Midway pastor, and the Rev. Jack Dean, pastor, were to officiate. Burial was to be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, Snyder, with Weathersbee Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Garrison had been ill for several months and had been hospitalized nine weeks.
Born June 23, 1901 [sic] in Delta County, he farmed near Rotan prior to moving to Arizona in 1937. He moved to Midway community in Scurry County in 1949 and married Mary Simpson June 23, 1951 at Lovington, N.M.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kirby of Yuma, Ariz., and Nelvin of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Hardin of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Grady of Dallas and Mrs. Horace Hill of Clyde; two brothers, Clyde of Snyder and Clay of Dallas; and five grandchildren.
