Hornell -- Paul E. Galutia, 80, of 101 Steuben St., Hornell, died at St. James Mercy Hospital Saturday.  He was taken to the hospital by city ambulance and pronounced dead on arrival.

He was born in Sweden, Pa., was a former resident of Eldred, Pa., and lived more than 50 years in the Hornell area.

He was a distributor for Sinclair Oil products in Hornell until he sold that business in 1938; he then became active with the federal Unemployment Agency office in Hornell; in later years he was proprietor of the North Hornell Wholesale Co.  He retired in 1968.

He was a past chairman of the Steuben County draft board serving on the board more than 30 years.  He was past treasurer of Hornell Lodge No. 251, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was a member of the Arkport memorial Post, American Legion.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Tinklepaugh of Alfred and Mrs. Daniel Perrino of Urbana, Ill., a son, Dr. Paul R. Galutia of Coopersburg, Pa., and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Robertson Funeral Home in Hornell from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.  Funeral and committal services will be in the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce H. Sterns officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornall.
