OBITUARY

Name:   Myra Beulah (Dean) Galutia

Mrs. Myra Dean Galutia, a well known and respected Canisteo resident, died at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell Thursday.  She was 45 years of age and was born in Syracuse June 8, 1894.

Mrs. Galutia was ill about 10 days, and confined to the hospital two days prior to her death.  On Wednesday, May 3 she underwent an operation but failed to convalesce. 

She was active in church circles being a regular and faithful attendant of the Canisteo M. E. church.  Mrs. Galutia was a real Christian and her death will leave a wide circle of friends to mourn her loss.  She was active in the M. E. Sunday school.

For the past 30 years, she had been a resident of Canisteo.  Her residence for the past year had been at No. 4 North street.

Mrs. Galutia was the daughter of the late Rev. J. L. Box and Mrs. Emma Box, the latter surviving.  Four children survive, Elizabeth, Irving, Jean and Theodore Galutia, all at home; a half-sister, Mrs. Ernest Weeks of Syracuse; a half-brother, Sherman Dean of Merced Falls, Calif.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.  Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery here, with Rev. M. L. Hallock of the M. E. church officiating.
