WAVERLY -- Maynard A. Galutia, of Waverly, died January 29, 1991, at Newman Hospital.

Mr. Galutia farmed at Waverly for 14 years.  Earlier he was manager of the Miller Ranch for 15 years and Kline Brothers Ranch in Olathe for 10 years.

The son of William A. and Lilly Belle Haugh Galutia, Maynard A. Galutia was born at rural Miller on Aug. 21, 1904.  H married Maud Taber in Emporia on May 15, 1930.

Mr. Galutia is survived by his wife; a daughter, Lois Johnson of Emporia; two grandsons, Robin Johnson and Jerry Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson; five half-sisters, Wilma Brown of Colorado Springs, Fern Blackett [sic] of Osage City, Eleanor Huggins of Olathe, Irene Stewart of Lawrence and Mabel Lindsay of Topeka; three half-brothers, Glen Galutia of Federal Way, Wash., C. Leonard Galutia of Kansas City, Mo., and Harvey Galutia of Denver.

Mr. Galutia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waverly, where the funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.  Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund and may be sent to Jones Funeral Home at Waverly.  Friends may call at the funeral home between 2 and 8 p.m. Wednesday.

WAVERLY -- Maynard A. Galutia, 86, of rural Waverly, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1991, at an Emporia hospital.

Mr. Galutia was manager of Kline Brothers Ranch in Olathe 10 years and later manager of Miller Ranch 15 years.  He later farmed near Waverly 14 years.

He was born Aug. 21, 1904 near Miller, the son of William A. and Lilly Belle Haugh Galutia. He was married to Maud Taber of May 15, 1930, at Emporia.  She survives.

Mr. Galutia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waverly.

Other survivors include a daughter, Lois Johnson, Emporia; five half-sisters, Wilma Brown of Colorado Springs, Fern Plackett of Osage City, Eleanor Huggins of Olathe, Irene Stewart of Lawrence and Mabel Lindsay of Topeka; three half-brothers, Glen Galutia of Federal Way, Wash., C. Leonard Galutia of Kansas City, Mo., and Harvey Galutia of Denver, Colo.; two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Waverly.  Burial will be in American Cemetery at Osage City.  Mr. Galutia will lie in state from 2 until 8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Waverly.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
