Aged Man Died Monday Following Long Illness.  Funeral Wednesday.

J. Irvin Galutia, 80, passed away Monday after a long illness.

He was born in Millgrove, November 11, 1867.  Mr. and Mrs. Galutia moved to Eldred a few years ago.  On August 7 of this year, they observed the 56th anniversary of their marriage.

He spent his youth in Eldred, leaving here in 1902.  He returned in 1943.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Galutia and five sons, Leo Galutia, Shongo, N.Y., Harold Galutia, Canisteo, Ellsworth Galutia, Elmira, and Marion Ralph Galutia of Eldred.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of his son, Marion Galutia.  Rev. Wm. Esler Slocum, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated.  Interment was in Lamphere [sic] cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Donald Frisbee, Norman Blaske, James Morrison, Ronald Peers, Roy Gaylor and Fred Weber.

Among those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were: Mrs. Olive Edwards and Mrs. Ray Bailey of Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Hazel Wesley of Hornell; Mrs. Frank Lovely of Almond, N.Y.,; Mrs. Belle Harder and Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Richardson of Alma, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Halsey Graham of Genesee, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Fitch Woodcock and Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Perry of Shongo; Mr. and Mrs. John Threehouse, Olean, N__ and Mrs. Ethel De Mun of Wayland, N.Y.
