Ardene Galutia, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri,
passed away at her home on January 13, 2013. Visitation 6-8 p.m. on
Friday, January 18, at Charter Funerals, 77 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone, MO 64118.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20 at Our Savior
Lutheran Church, 4153 Rainbow Blvd., KCKS, 66103. Rev. Tom Van Duzer will
be officiating. Burial will be at the Lyndon Cemetery in Lyndon, KS at 12 p.m.
Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Ardene was born in Woodbine, KS, in 1924. She graduated from Woodbine High
School in 1942 and Strickler's Business College in 1943. She worked in
accounting and payroll for 36 years and retired from the Federal Aviation
Administration as a Payroll Supervisor in 1979. She enjoyed gardening, bird
watching, playing her organ, walking in the mall and having morning coffee at
McDonalds with friends. She did what she could do to help and encourage family.
Her greatest desire was to make them happy. She rooted for the Royals and the
Chiefs. Her kindness, generosity, and love of a good conversation will be
greatly missed.
Her marriage to Charles Galutia lasted until he passed after 57 years. She cherished her grandson and two great grandsons.
Ardene is survived by her son, Gary Galutia (Marty); grandson, Michael Galutia (Julie) and their two sons, Gavin and Gage; brothers, Allen Maybee, Raymond Maybee; nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be
given to Our Savior Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of
Kansas City Cancer Center and St. Luke's Hospice.
