Mrs. Emerence Mercier Galusha, 86, of Warren Road, Townsend, Mass., and formerly of Bennington, died Tuesday night at the People's Church Nursing Home in Worcester following a four month residency at the home.

Mrs. Galusha was born in Bennington on Nov. 13, 1890, the daughter of the late Adolph and Leah (Coute') Mercier.  She lived until six years ago in the Bennington area, where was at one time employed by Union Carbide.

She was the widow of Charles Galusha and is survived by three sons, Marvin of Baltimore. Md., Wilbert of Hempstead, N.Y. and Raymond of Arlington, Vt.; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Tappley of Townsend and Mrs. Barbara Lupi of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Rose Houle of Ripley, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday at the Knight-Anderson Funeral Home at 250 Main St. in Townsend, followed by a funeral Mass at St. John's Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the East Clarendon, Vt. cemetery in the spring.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
