James R. Galusha, 62, of Milan, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his sisters home in Ankeny, IA. Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island. Visitation will be from NOON to 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Ch. #299.

James was born on September 10, 1949 in Rock Island, the son of Clarence Bud and Gertrude Yocklin Galusha.

James earned the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart for his services as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After his serving his country he co-owned and operated Ed and Jims Auto Body in Milan for 34 years. Jims hobbies included bicycling, archery, motorcycles, antique tractors, and cars.

He is survived by his sister, Mary L. (Joe) Sherrard, Ankeny, IA; brother-in-law, Richard Bald, Andalusia; nieces and nephews, John Bald, Andalusia, Bridget (Bruce) Titus, Iowa City, IA, Theresa (Dan) Soltzberg, Felton, CA, James (Jenn) Dodd, Booneville, IA, Jennifer Dodd and Jacqueline Sherrard, both of Ankeny, IA; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Bald.
