DALTON -- George C. Galusha, 80, of 74 Oak St. died Sunday at the Ashmere Manor Nursing Home following a short illness.

Born in Dalton, son of Charles and Hattie Cleveland Galusha, he attended local schools and served in the Army during World War I.  A carpenter by trade, he retired in 1965.  He was a member of the Congregational Church, the American Legion, the Carpenters Union, the Aurora Club and the Senior Citizens Club of Pittsfield.  Mr. Galusha was a 50-year member of the Globe Lodge of Masons, Hinsdale.

He is survived by three sons, George S. of Trenton, N.J., Edward C. of Palmer, and Gilbert C. Galusha of Dalton; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Ford of West Springfield, Mrs. Ralph Cormier of Hinsdale, and Mrs. Lawrence Kinney of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Millicent Green of Wilbraham and Mrs. Dorothy Bensco of Orlando, Fla.; a brother Lyman of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Congregational Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in the Main Street Cemetery.  Calling hours at the Bartlett-Wellington Funeral Home are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Congregational Church.
