Claude D. "Andy" Galusha, 93, of Milan, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.  

Services for Mr. Galusha will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201-E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military rites will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246.

Andy was born on Oct. 12, 1915, in Milan, the son of Clarence E. Galusha and Claudia G. Peebler Galusha. He married Reva McCullough on Sept. 24, 1947, in Rock Island.

Mr. Galusha worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for 27 years, retiring in 1981. In his earlier years, Andy played bass and sang with the Eddie Titcombe Dance Band and the Weldon Froehner Orchestra and could often be heard over local radio stations. His memberships included IBEW Local No. 109, Rock Island, Musicians Union, Davenport and the Rock Island Conservation Club.

Mr. Galusha had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a U.S. Army veteran having served four years in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include his wife, Reva; son, Daniel R. Galusha, Milan; a brother, Kenneth Galusha, Rock Island; sisters, Betty Hayden, Illinois City, and Mary Magerkurth, Milan.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Clark, Esther Wilson, Hazel Johnson; brothers, Harold Galusha and Clarence “Bud” Galusha.
