Robert W. "Bob" Furgason, Sr., age 71, of Jasper, formerly of Britton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his home. Bob was born July 21, 1934 in Tecumseh, the son of Leonard and Leora (Gregg) Furgason. He married Suzanne Caligiuri on June 18, 1957 and she survives.
Bob was a Veteran of the US Army serving his country during World War II. He
worked at Tecumseh Department of Public Works and became the Superintendent of
Public Works in Britton where he retired. Bob was also a member of the Ridgeway
In addition to his wife, Suzanne, Bob is survived by two sons, Robert (Dawn) Furgason, Jr. of Britton and Joseph (Nancetta) Furgason of Glasgow, Ky,; two daughters, Colleen (Tim) Roberts of Glasgow, Ky. Angela (Ed) Rodgers of Britton; four brothers Milford Furgason of Britton, Harry Furgason of Tipton, Walter (Janet) Furgason of Britton and James (Connie) Furgason of Clinton; three sisters, Jean Jones of Lake Placid, Fla., Juanita Davenport of Tipton., and Norma (Alton) Hayford of Britton; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) Furgason, Heather Marsh, Megan Roberts, Sean Roberts, Mazaraddi Clayton, Jennifer Furgason, Chelsea Rodgers, Jamie Furgason, Kayla Rodgers, Rachel Rodgers, Spencer Furgason, and Sienna Furgason; three great-grandchildren, Travis, Mackenzie, and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Tecumseh Chapel of Couture-Handler Funeral Homes on Friday, May 5, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Tecumseh friends Chruch on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Kopka officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be in Ridgeway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
