BRITTON, Mich. - Milford "Bud" Furgason, age 81, of Britton passed away March 6, 2010. Bud was born May 1, 1928, in Dover, Township, the son of Edward and Leora (Gregg) Furgason. On March 31, 1951, he married Catherine Irene Swank. She preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2000.
He was a resident of the Britton-Tecumseh area his entire life. Bud was a
veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War conflict. He
thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and they would light up his eyes.
After more than 40 years of service, he retired from Tecumseh Products.
Bud is survived by one son, Rick (Annette) Furgason of Britton; one daughter, Robin (David) Vehmeier of Morenci; a foster daughter, Lori (Perry) Taylor of Britton; eight grandchildren, Scott Furgason and his mother, Debbie Henning; Stacey and Nick Vehmeier, Gina and Jon Taylor, Todd (Rhonda) Papworth and Holly Papworth; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, James, Nathanial and Joshua; a great-great-grandson, Jacob; sisters, Jean Jones and Norma Furgason Hayford; and brothers, Harry Furgason, Walter Furgason and James Furgason.
Besides his wife, Catherine, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juanita, Bertha and Marian; and brothers, Edward and Robert.
At his request, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Pastor Bruce Davenport officiating. A private burial will take place at Norvell Cemetery, Norvell, Mich. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Friday, one hour prior to the service at noon.
