Funeral services for lifelong Forest City resident, Clyde A. Fox, 81, who died May 30 at a Mason City hospital, were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon Packard conducted the service and burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Born Aug. 1, 1889 in Forest City, he was the son of W. A. (Abe) and Maria (Connor) Fox. He spent his entire life in the Forest City area and worked at road construction and as a farmer. He had been making his home with his son, Earl Fox.
He is survived by four sons, Kay of Des Moines, Earl and Creighton of Forest City and Bill of Minneapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Alton (Margie) Brandl of Mason City, Mrs. Roger (Jennie Mae) Nelson of Clear Lake and Mrs. Al (Helen Jean) Dutemple of Des Moines; 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; one brother, Mearle Fox of Forest City, and one sister, Mrs. Edna Murphy of Black Duck, Minn.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers.
Mrs. Lois Erickson is organist. Honorary bearers are Bruce Anderson, Norman Myre, Donald Nelson, Rank Riekena, Harvey Rollefson and Roger Rollefson. Casket bearers are Gerald Fox, Phillip Fox, Ronald Fox, Jerald Dutemple, Jeffrey Nelson and Dean Sweet.
