A. Kay Fox, 83, of Pharr, Texas, died of complications of a stroke Wednesday at McAllen (Texas) Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Des Moines United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Fox was born in Forest City and lived in Des Moines before moving to Texas 13 years ago. He was the retired owner and operator of Fox Printing Co., an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Independent Free Papers of America and the National Association of Advertising Publishers.
Survivors include two sons, Philip of Gladstone, Mo., and Kenneth of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Jennie May Nelson of Des Moines, Helen Dutemple of Urbandale, and Margie Brandl of Mason City; three brothers, Creighton and Clyde [sic], both of Forest City, and Bill of Minneapolis; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Blank Park Zoo.
