Thomas W. Ferguson Sr., 88, of Willoughby Hills, died June 6, 2004, at Mentor Way Care Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born Sept. 25, 1915, in Toledo, he lived in Mentor before moving to Willoughby Hills 30 years ago.

He was a Euclid Central High School graduate and he attended Fenn College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed playing golf and cards and took a great interest in Civil War history.

Mr. Ferguson retired as a draftsman from Cleveland Crane. Previously, he worked at Austin Company and was a builder at Reid and Ferguson Builders in Mentor.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Reid); sons, Thomas W. (Melissa) Ferguson Jr. of Concord and Reid N. (Karen) Ferguson of Mentor; grandchildren, Thomas W. III (Anita), Caroline (John), John and Melissa; and four great-grandchildren.

His grandson, Michael Ferguson; sister, Betty; and brothers, Norris and Edmund, are deceased.

Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
