BROOKLYN: Rhenold C. Ely age 74, of Brooklyn, formerly of Tecumseh, died August 2, 2001, at home. He was born October 26, 1926 in Michigan Center, the son of Charles and Myrtle Ely. On Nov. 18, 1949, he married Marian Furgason. She died on July 12, 1954. He then married Lena Belle Ashworth on Feb. 4, 1956.

He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Tecumseh Products Co.

Rhenold is survived by four children; David (Karen) Ely of Brooklyn, Douglas (Brenda) Ely of Tecumseh, Steven Ely of Birdsall and Vicki (Earl) Cauley of Onsted, 10 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers Elton Ely of San Antonio, TX, Lyle Ely of Michigan Center, and Duane Ely of Horton, four sisters Joyce Monroe of Manistee, Virginia Ziesman, Ella Ely and Betty Hutchinson all of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Keith Ely.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2001, in the Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Burial will be in Tipton Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
