Ethel Easton Rites Held at St. Thomas

Funeral services for Ethel G. Easton, 74, of Emmetsburg were held at St. Thomas Church Saturday, February 2, at 9:30 a.m. with the Reverend C. E. Farrelly officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery with the Martin Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Glyne Easton was born at Curlew May 6, 1888, a daughter of Samuel A. and Ellen Cadden Easton. She attended the Curlew school and St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines.

Miss Easton was a partner in the Levins and Easton Drugstore until 1939 when her partner, May Levins, died. She continued with the Easton Drug Sundries business until 1955 and moved to Emmetsburg in January, 1956. She died at Lakeview Nursing Home after an illness of several years.

Survivors include three sisters: Mrs. E. J. LeMaire of Lemon Grove, California, Mrs. S. A. Cullen and Nellie M. Easton of Emmetsburg; one brother, Edgar D. Easton of Spencer, and 18 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mrs. Ed Wiley, and three brothers, Herbert, Albert A. and Cecil Easton.

Pallbearers included Oral Headrick, Joe Wilson and Vincent Graff of Curlew, W. F. Eagan, W. R. Neary and Joseph J. Walsh of Emmetsburg.
