PHOENIX, ARIZ. -- Merle A. Dunn, 65, died Thursday at a Phoenix, Ariz. hospital.  Born Dec. 21, 1915 in Great Bend, he was a former Great Bend resident, moving to Hutchinson after graduation from high school.  He married Lucille Barnum in 1941.  In 1951, he moved to Garden City, where he owned and operated the Merle Dunn Typewriter Co. until 1964, when he moved to Phoenix.  He retired in 1979.

Dun was a member of the Northwest Christian Church in Phoenix, B.P.O.E. and I.O.O.F. and was a World War II Veteran.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marjorie Hammer of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Orren Dunn of Wichita and Leonard Dunn of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Kelley of Lyons, Mrs. Mabel Nelson of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Vonnie Shepard of Great Bend; and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Cremation will follow. The family suggests memorials to the church building fund.
