Dr. F. Laverne Dietter, longtime Holley dentist
CAMPBELL - Dr. F. (Frank) Laverne Dietter, 91, of 5388 County Route 125, went to be with The Lord Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, Bath, N.Y.   Dr. Dietter was born May 2, 1913 in Buffalo, N.Y., to George Frederick and Eva Hinman Dietter. A graduate of South Park High School in Buffalo, N.Y., he was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Dietter graduated from the University of Buffalo Dental School and played football on the University of Buffalo team while he was in school. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a medical officer during World War II while stationed in the Philippine Islands.

Dr. Dietter was a practicing dentist in Holley, N.Y., for 47 years. He was a member, Elder, and choir member of the Holley First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and an associate member and choir member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bath, N.Y. Dr. Dietter also served as a delegate for the Genesee Valley Presbyterians. He was a member of the Holley American Legion and the former Holley (Kendal) Masonic Lodge. He was a recipient of the Phil Harris award as a member of the Holley (NY) Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Heath Dietter, whom he married May 2, 1942; two daughters, Roxanna E. (James L.) Miller of Campbell, N.Y., and Penelope J. (Wayne) Yunghans of Fredonia, N.Y.; one brother, Robert G. (Betty) Dietter of Campbell, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Dorothy VanGelder, Steven (Erica) Yunghans and Daniel (Jen) Yunghans; three great-grandchildren, Shelby Sherrod, Matthew Sherrod and Patrick Yunghans; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call at the Seager Funeral Home, Main Street, Savona, N.Y., on February 8 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Madden officiating. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Holley, N.Y., with the Rev. Cheryl McCann officiating.
