Lewis Dibble an old resident of the Oswayo Valley died at his home of First street, Shinglehouse, Thursday night, Aug. 16 1934, following a second stroke.  He had been in poor health for a couple of years.

He was born at Millport on July 10, 1862 and had resided in this section the greater part of his life.  Much of his time had been spent in the lumber woods and saw mills.  In the mills in this state and in the south he was employed as a filer.  The latter part of his life had been spent in farming.  He was a kind and loving husband and father and was well thought of in the communities where he resided for so many years.  He was a member of the local M. E. Church for a number of years.

Besides his widow, Jinsie, he is survived by three sons; George Dibble of this boro, Elmer Dibble of Kenmore, N.Y. and Ernest Dibble of Akron, O; also three stepsons, Roy Brown of Rew City, Pa., Lloyd Brown of Berkley, Mich., and Carl Dibble of Maryland, N.Y.; one brother Mortimer Dibble of Roanoke, Va.

The funeral was held in the M. E. Church at 2 o'clock Sunday, the pastor, Rev. C. H. Nash, officiating.  The body was laid at rest in the family lot in the cemetery at Sharon Center.
